Sony has published a financial report for the second quarter of 2019, which, according to the manufacturer’s calendar, ended on September 30. The company’s revenue for the reporting period amounted to 19.76 billion dollars, which is 3% lower than the figure for the same period last year.
The decrease in this indicator is offset by an increase in operating profit, which increased by 16% compared to the same indicator in 2018 and amounted to $ 2.598 billion. The company’s profit before taxes amounted to 2.44 billion dollars, which corresponds to an increase of 6% compared with a year ago.
Net income amounted to 1.75 billion dollars, which corresponds to an increase of 9% compared with the same indicator last year.
Sales and operating profit in various segments are shown in the appendix to the report: In the report, Sony also cites sales volumes of its main products: PlayStation 4 2.8 million units per quarter, televisions – 2.5 million units, digital cameras – 0.7 million units, smartphones – 0.6 million units.
