There can be many reasons why you’d want to reset your Galaxy Flip 5. Some common ones are either because the phone isn’t working as expected or you’re giving it away, selling it, etc.–or if there is any software issue that won’t go away no matter what troubleshooting steps you take.

If you are sending your phone to the manufacturer for maintenance, it’s best not to reset it before shipping. Samsung has a feature called Maintenance Mode that disables all applications so they aren’t deleted or damaged by accident during repair work.

Now let’s jump into the guide.

Prepare for Hard Reset

When you reset your phone, it removes all the files and applications you’ve installed, as well as any contacts or other information stored on the device.

Before performing a reset, it’s a good idea to back up your complete data or at least the data that is important. You can use Smart Switch to make sure that you have backed up everything locally on your phone, but if you prefer not to be tethered by wires then there’s also Samsung Cloud—a free service offered by Samsung itself which lets users backup their personal information onto servers maintained directly within Samsung’s headquarters in South Korea.
