Join Messages Beta Testing

In order to use the Magic Compose feature, you must be using RCS messaging. Text messaging using a regular carrier will not work with Magic Compose. In the Messages app, follow these steps to enable RCS Messages.

Your Android device should launch the Messages app.

You can access your profile picture by tapping the icon at the top right corner of the screen.

Go to the Message Settings page.

Once you have tapped on RCS Chats, make sure it is set to On.
Enable Magic Compose and AI Suggestions

How to Enable Magic Compose in the Messages App

Open the Messages app on your Android device.

To start a conversation with RCS, open the chat screen.

Easily identify RCS conversations since the compose row displays RCS Messages.

Click on the icon for Message Suggestions.

You can then use Magic Compose by tapping on Try It.

The No Thanks button will let you turn it off if you’re not interested.
Get Message Suggestions From Magic Compose
With Magic Compose enabled you can easily make use of Google’s Bard AI’s message suggestions.

Get started with RCS by opening a conversation.

Select Message Suggestions from the menu.
