After months of leaks and teasers, Huawei finally unveiled its nova 6 lineup. The show’s star is the nova 6 5G, which has an oval display with holes, as well as the Kirin 990 flagship chipset and a powerful triple camera. There is also the nova 6 standard, which has an identical design but does not have a 5G connection and is also equipped with a slightly smaller battery.

The third smartphone is the mid-price nova 6SE, which has four cameras, a Kirin 810 and a large battery with a capacity of 4200 mAh.

Both nova 6 and its 5G  variant are equipped with a 6.57-inch FHD + AMOLED display with an oval hole for perforation in the upper left corner. The cutout contains a dual-camera setup with a 32-megapixel camera and an ultra-wide secondary 8-megapixel camera sensor that provides a 105-degree field of view.

On the right side is a fingerprint scanner, which also serves as a power button. On the back, there is a 40-megapixel main camera along with an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

Under the hood, we have the flagship Kirin 990 chipset, which is connected to the Balong 5000 5G modem on nova 6 5G. The amount of RAM is 8 GB, and the storage capacity is from 128 to 256 GB.

On the software front, we have Android 10 with EMUI 10 on top.

The Nova 6 comes with a 4100 mAh battery, while the 5G version accelerates to 4200 mAh. Both phones come with support for 40W Huawei SuperCharge.

The Nova 6 5G will cost 3,799 yuan ($ 540) in an 8/128 GB configuration, and 8/256 GB for buyers of 4,199 yuan ($ 595). The standard Nova 6 starts at 3,199 yuan ($ 454) for 8/128 GB. Pre-orders will begin later today, and official sales will begin on December 12.

Huawei also introduced the nova 6SE, which is a mid-range offering. Starting from the front, we get a 6.4-inch FHD + LCD panel with a hole for punching for a single 16-megapixel selfie camera. Like the other two nova 6 models, the SE has a side fingerprint reader.

On the rear panel, there is a four-chamber camera with a 48-megapixel camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and two 2-megapixel modules (depth and macro). Under the hood, we have the Kirin 810 chipset combined with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory. 4200 mAh battery with 40 W support of Huawei SuperCharge.

The Nova 6SE will cost 2,199 yuan ($ 315) in 8/128 GB with pre-orders starting today and official sales scheduled for December 12th.
