How to leave a Telegram group in a few steps
Like WhatsApp and other messaging applications, Telegram allows its users to leave any group without too many complications. Although carrying out this procedure is extremely simple, certain steps must be followed to avoid making mistakes.
So that you don’t have to look elsewhere, here we are going to show you not only how to leave a Telegram group, but also how to leave a group as an owner, you can’t miss it!
So you can leave a Telegram group
Before we show you the respective tutorial, it is important to mention that you cannot leave a group without anyone knowing about it. This function, at the moment, is only available to users who have a subscription to Telegram Premium.
- Open the Telegram application that you have installed on your mobile.
- When you are inside it, you will have to access the Telegram group that you want to leave (click on it).
- Therefore, you must press on the three vertical points that are located in the upper right part of the screen.
- A menu will be displayed with several options, click on the one that says “Leave the group”.
- Telegram will display a window with two options, click on the one that says “Leave the group”.
- If you did all the steps correctly, a message will appear that says the following: “Group removed”.
Leaving a Telegram group as an owner is also possible
On the other hand, if you have created a Telegram group and you do not want it to be deleted when you leave it, the following tutorial will allow you to leave the said group as the owner:
- Enter the Telegram group which you own.
- Once you are inside it, you will have to click on the name of the group.
- Therefore, you must press and hold on to the user to whom you want to grant administrator permissions.
- Several options will be displayed, click on the first one, the one that says “Promote to administrator”.
- Click on the small check mark that is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
- When you have finished giving the permissions to that user, you will have to click on it again.
- Then, you must go to the bottom of the screen and click on “Transfer group ownership”.
- Finally, you will have to click on the three vertical dots and select the option “Leave the group” to be able to leave it without having to delete it.
