How to enable the new shipment tracking in Gmail on Android and iOS. Quick and easy guide to tracking parcels and shipments directly in Gmail
How to activate shipment tracking in Gmail
Great news for all users who use Gmail e-mail: from today it is possible to monitor the status and progress of your shipments directly from the Google app!
Announced a few months ago, the new and very useful function is finally available for all users and in this article, we will see together how to activate it.
In fact, a few simple steps are enough to immediately enable the function that tracks our shipments directly on Gmail.
In particular, thanks to this feature, you will be able to see at a glance either the delivery date as communicated by the courier, the order number with the possibility of copying it with a touch (does not work with all orders), a button which leads to online tracking, presumably more detailed, and order status summarized in three stages: order placed, shipped/in transit, and delivered.
So, without getting lost in useless chatter, let’s see immediately how to proceed.
How to track parcels and shipments with Gmail – GUIDE
First of all, you should know that, if the feature is available for your account, a tab will appear at the top of the Gmail app as soon as you receive an email about shipment tracking.
However, it is also possible to activate it manually by following these instructions :
- Open the app Regardless of whether you use Android or iOS, the new option will be enabled directly from the Gmail application settings
- Enable the function on Android Open the Settings from the side menu and select “General > Tracking of shipments”, here enable the confirmation tick
- Enable the function on iOS Open the Settings from the side menu and select “Data Privacy”, here activate the toggle on “Shipment tracking”
- View tracking Now each new mail containing a tracking code will show a widget at the top from which it will be possible to monitor the shipment
From now on you can monitor your shipments directly from the confirmation emails sent by the various stores, without the need to use third-party apps or bots to check packages. A very convenient function!
In the future, it will also be possible to get an overview of all tracked shipments at the top of the app, complete with labels for late shipments.
Update the Gmail app
I remind you that you can download the latest version of the Gmail app directly from the iOS and Android stores. For Android users, simply download the update, since the app is already installed in 99% of cases.
