Prerequisite:

  • 1: Install Android SDK

You must initially install the Android SDK Platform Tools on your computer. This is Google’s official ADB and Fastboot binary, and it is the only one recommended. Therefore, download the file and extract it to any convenient location on your computer. This will yield the platform tools folder, which will be referenced throughout the remainder of this guide.

  • 2: Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking

Additionally, you must enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking on the device. The former will allow the PC to recognize your device in ADB mode. This will then allow you to enter Fastboot Mode on your device. Conversely, OEM Unlocking is required in order to activate the bootloader.

So go to Settings > About Phone > Tap on Build Number 7 times > Return to Settings > System > Advanced > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking.

Additionally, you must unlock the device’s bootloader in order to install the GSI ROM on your tablet. Note that doing so will erase all of your device’s data and may void its warranty as well. Please refer to our guide on How to Unlock the Bootloader on Samsung Devices if this is satisfactory.
