Nokia 5 received an upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie

Deputy CEO of HMD Global Juho Sarvikas (Juho Sarvikas) on his page on the social network reported the beginning of the distribution of the firmware update to Android 9.0 Pie for the Nokia 5 (2017) smartphone.

Like the rest of Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 5 model is a member of the Android One program, so it received a clean Android OS 9.0 Pie without shells and add-ons.

After installing the update, smartphone owners will mark a new redesigned and simplified user interface, a new gesture navigation system, optimized battery consumption and adapted screen brightness (Adaptive Battery and Adaptive Brightness functions), as well as an updated, Do Not Disturb mode and new system sounds, notifications, icons. In addition, the firmware contains fixes for previously detected errors and a fresh Android security patch for the month of January.

Nokia 5 was introduced in February 2017, it runs out of the box running Android 7.0 Nougat.
