Last December, Xiaomi introduced a series of new smartphones embedded with the latest HyperOS software, revolutionizing the user experience. Besides, existing Xiaomi devices received the HyperOS update, enhancing their functionality. However, following the update, a significant number of users faced challenges with unlocking the bootloader specifically on their HyperOS devices, leading to frustrations among the user base.

Some users are encountering the error messages “Couldn’t add, apply in the community” or “Couldn’t add Account” when trying to unlock the bootloader on HyperOS. Xiaomi has addressed these issues, ensuring a smoother process for users to unlock HyperOS.

HyperOS Bootloader Unlock Guide

In this post, we will guide you on how to follow the HyperOS Unlock Bootloader process to successfully unlock your device. To begin, you will require a Xiaomi Account, a stable data connection, a SIM card, and a PC or Laptop to utilize the Mi Unlock tool.

Steps to Unlock Bootloader on HyperOS

Requirements: Make sure you possess an active Xiaomi account for a minimum of 30 days. If you don’t have one and plan to create a new account, please be aware that a 30-day waiting period is necessary before moving forward.

To start, install Xiaomi Community version 5.3.31 or a newer release. If you can’t find it, download the APK from the link provided. Once done, go to the “Me” section in the app, then head to Settings > Change region, and switch your region to Global.

After adjusting this setting, reopen the app, go back to the “Me” section, and choose “Unlock bootloader.” Please be patient, as it might take a moment for this option to appear. If it doesn’t show up immediately, close the app briefly; it should pop up shortly after.

Proceed by clicking on “Apply for unlocking.” If the message confirms permission granted until a specific date, the process is finished. In case you encounter a notification indicating that the application quota has been reached, kindly attempt again at 7:00 PM.

  • Next, navigate to Settings > About Phone > Tap on “OS Version” 8-10 times to enable Developer Options.
  • Next, go to Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options, choose Mi Unlock status, and link your account.
  • Once you get a confirmation message saying “Successfully added,” you can unlock your device with the Mi Unlock application on your computer after waiting 72 hours or 3 days.

Once the waiting period, typically imposed for security reasons, is over, we can successfully unlock the bootloader of our Xiaomi devices. This process allows for greater customization and flexibility, enabling users to explore various firmware options and optimizations. In conclusion, with the freedom to unlock the bootloader on our Xiaomi devices running HyperOS, we can delve deeper into the realm of personalization and performance enhancements for a tailored user experience.
