Apple has announced the opening of a new official store in Hongdae, South Korea, on January 20th. In keeping with tradition, the company has released new wallpapers—including a unique logo for the store—to commemorate the event. The Apple Hongdae Store wallpaper is now available for Mac, iPhone, and iPad users, and can be downloaded here.
The Apple Store Hongdae is situated at 140 Yanghwa-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, with the grand opening scheduled for January 20th at 10 AM. The store will operate from 10 AM to 10 PM local time.
When Apple unveiled new stores in India last year, we shared wallpapers featuring Apple logos that embodied the local culture of the store locations. Similarly, the Apple Store Hongdae wallpaper displays a graffiti-style logo.
In a newsletter, Michael Steeber revealed an interesting find—the hidden word “Hongdae” in Korean, artfully embedded within the logo.
Although many Apple enthusiasts might not be able to attend the store’s opening, they can still join the celebration by using the new logo wallpaper designed for various devices. These wallpapers can be found on Apple’s official website, where users can download them in the resolution specific to their device. For example, Mac users will receive the wallpaper in Mac resolution, with the same rule applying to iPhones and iPads. However, downloading all three formats simultaneously is not possible.
