Google Pixel 5 will have important changes in its design (video)
Since Google confirmed the release of Pixel 5 for the fall of this year, leaks have multiplied. Most have focused on their internal hardware, but today we must look outside.
The renowned @OnLoeaks, in partnership with the Pricebaba website, released some high quality renders of Google Pixel 5. These images show us some important differences when compared to Pixel 4.
Google Pixel 5 has strong inspirations in Google Pixel 4a
Although the Pixel 4a is a mid-range smartphone, it is the most contemporary device in Google’s portfolio. So it is not surprising that Google relied on it for the development of its next flagship.
First, we have a screen with a hole in the top left that allows you to drastically reduce the screen’s margins. Something that Google did not do with the Pixel 4, leaving that top margin for the sensors of your facial recognition.
When this physical space disappears, this biometric authentication technology also disappears, as does the Soli project. And that is synonymous with the return of the much-loved fingerprint reader.
Surprisingly – or not – Google chose to place this component on the back of the Pixel 5. That is, we have the return to capacitive sensors, thus escaping the fashion of readers embedded in the screen.
Of course, this technology is more avant-garde, but there are advantages to Google’s decision. Right away, it manages to cut production costs, since capacitive sensors come out cheaper.
Perhaps the most important thing is the reliability that capacitive sensors offer us. This type of fingerprint sensor is much faster and more accurate than the similar ones embedded in the screen.
It is also important to note the presence of three photographic lenses on the back of the Google Pixel 5. Although details about your camera are not known, we hope that this is the one that Google brings us a wide-angle lens.
