Guide: Installing the Apple TV App on an Android Device

So you’re ready to binge some Apple TV shows on your Android device, but you’re stuck! The Apple TV app isn’t officially available for Android phones or tablets. But don’t worry, we’ve got a neat trick to help you out!

We’re going to use a Progressive Web App (PWA) to get you up and running. Think of it as a supercharged version of the tv.apple.com website, but streamlined for a smoother experience.

How to Install Apple TV on Android (The PWA Way)

It’s super easy! Let’s get started:

Before we dive in, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • You won’t be able to download videos for offline viewing.
  • The picture-in-picture feature won’t be available.

But if you’re okay with those minor limitations, let’s get this show on the road!

  1. Open your Chrome browser and head over to tv.apple.com.
  2. Tap on the three dots in the top right corner (the overflow menu) and choose “Install App”.
  3. Click “Install” when the prompt appears.
  4. And that’s it! You’ll find your new Apple TV app in your app drawer or on your home screen.
