Google Wallet has a lot of tricks and features that can make your life much easier. This time, we bring you a handful of tricks for Google Wallet that will be useful in your daily life, whether for paying or carrying identification documents.

In case you didn’t know, Google Wallet is a digital wallet that can store your payment cards, event tickets, e-tickets, gift cards, digital keys, and more for you to use whenever you want. However, you should remember that Google Wallet is not the same as Google Pay.

Now that you know what Google Wallet is, we can explain the five tricks of this application. Without further ado, here they are:

Save plane tickets from the messaging app

messaging app

This app has multiple methods for you to save a train ticket or restaurant reservation that a company has sent you. You can add it using the Android app, its web portal, or the company’s email address. Some require more effort than others, but there’s an even easier way: using the Messages app if you have RCS chats enabled.

However, this is something you can only do if you receive the ticket via text message. If this is the case, you just need to press the “Add to Google Wallet” option and then confirm the action, as you can see in the image above.

Offline payments, ideal for when you are in a place with connectivity problems

Offline payments

Another Google Wallet feature you may not have known about is the ability to allow you to make payments without being connected to the Internet. You will need Internet access when adding a new card to your Google Wallet account, though.

This is possible because the app usually saves a specific number of one-time codes, which are the ones used to make a payment. However, these codes for offline payments are not infinite and will eventually run out if your smartphone is disconnected from the Internet for days or weeks.

This also works when you are in an area where there is no good internet connection. Simply disconnect your smartphone from the mobile network or WiFi network you are connected to and make the payment in question.

Store tickets, IDs or passes using a picture taken with your phone
