How to reconnect Alexa and the Amazon Echo to WiFi

Amazon smart speakers like the Echo Dot are awesome! They can play music, take your commands, and even control other smart devices in your home—all with just your voice! But there’s one thing they really need to work their magic: a solid WiFi connection.

Now, your Alexa speaker is pretty good at remembering saved Wi-Fi networks. You can move it around the house and it usually finds its way back online. But sometimes… life happens. You get a new WiFi network, change your password, or maybe Alexa’s just feeling a little glitchy.

If you see those flashing lights, that’s Alexa’s way of telling you, “Hey, I can’t get online! SOS!” Don’t worry, we’ve got your back. Here’s how to reconnect Alexa to WiFi and get back to your regularly scheduled jamming and smart home shenanigans.

Whether you’ve got a new WiFi network or just a new password, we can get your Alexa speaker back online in a flash. Just make sure you have that new password handy!

How to Delete Saved WiFi Networks (Just in Case)

Sometimes, Alexa gets a little too good at remembering WiFi networks, especially if you’ve changed your network name or password recently.

Unfortunately, you can’t delete entire WiFi networks from the Alexa app (boo!), but you can clear saved passwords.

Important Note: This will delete passwords for all your Alexa devices using that Amazon account. So, if you’ve got multiple Alexas rockin’ out in your crib, they’ll all need their WiFi passwords re-entered.

Here’s the deal:

    • Open Your Browser: Fire up your trusty web browser and head to the Amazon website.

Alexa, Play Our Song! (Now That You’re Back Online)

And there you have it! Hopefully, your Alexa device is back online and ready to rock. It’s a pretty simple process, but those pesky WiFi glitches can happen to the best of us.

Fingers crossed Amazon adds a way to delete entire WiFi networks from the Alexa app soon. Until then, you’ve got the power! Go forth and conquer those WiFi woes! 💪
