Xiaomi has taken another step in populating its Indiegogo page and, after releasing a treadmill and an electric toothbrush, here it has launched the new Xiaomi Imilab EC2.

The Xiaomi Imilab EC2 is a wireless security camera launched in China last October under the name MIJIA Xiaobai Smart Camera Battery edition.

The Imilab EC2 camera is in step with the minimalist design language for which Xiaomi is known and is equally convenient. As said, the security camera is entirely wireless and can be installed indoors and outdoors, thanks to the IP66 certification. The wireless design simplifies installation as it does not require any type of wiring.

One of the prominent features onboard is the enormous 5100 mAh battery which includes that, according to company data, it can last up to 100 days on a single charge.

The high autonomy is ensured by the motion detection algorithm which starts recording only when a human body is detected. Then, the camera starts recording and the video is uploaded to the cloud (Xiaomi offers free Mi Cloud storage for life) and on the internal microSD (support up to 64 GB).

State-of-the-art AI technology allows you to distinguish between pets, large pets, or other large hot moving objects. If an animal is detected, the system will not send alarm notifications to reduce the false alarm.

Among other things, you can also view the video in real-time on your smartphone or tablet, with functionality “2-Way Talk” To be able to talk to anyone within reach.

From a technical point of view, the Xiaomi MILAB EC2 has integrated a series of infrared sensors for night vision. Also, the camera is equipped with a lens with an F2.6 aperture and a sensor that can record 1080p video.
