Xiaomi continues to steal. Apple Watch Design Stolen This Time
It seems that Xiaomi too literally took Apple’s famous phrase, which is written on almost all of the company’s products. If you don’t know, it sounds like this: “Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in China ”(Designed in California by Apple. Made in China). Therefore, in their new line of watches, the Chinese decided to completely “combine” the look of the Apple Watch. “Perfect solution!

The new Chinese smartwatch is based on the WearOS mobile operating system from the search giant Google. The gadget was announced recently by Xiaomi CEO Lee Jun, but at the same time the device comes out on November 5th of this year along with the Mi CC9 Pro smartphone, the company’s new flagship with five main cameras (among which there is an incredible sensor as much as 108 megapixels with 5- multiple optical zoom).
Xiaomi Watch Apple Watch (let me call it that) looks the same as the original, right down to the Digital Crown-style control wheel and power button. Everything is located in exactly the same places as on the real Apple Watch.
According to June, two versions will be available – silver and black. Smart watches from Xiaomi have almost all of the same functions that Apple Watch has: GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, eSIM support for connecting to LTE networks and fitness capabilities. At a minimum, the pedometer will be accurate here, but nothing is clear about other functions, such as monitoring the heartbeat or ECG. But most likely, they will be present.
There are, however, differences. For example, as many as 2 stereo speakers for the speakerphone function. Possible advantages include the price. Looking at the difference in cost between the flagships from Apple and Xiaomi, we should expect at least 30-40 percent lower watch costs from Xiaomi compared to the Apple Watch. The “original” design affected not only the watch but also the straps for it
The Chinese company is well known for offering fairly high-quality equipment for a very low price. And this is good, because healthy competition has not harmed anyone, but ultimately both the consumer and the manufacturer benefit. But all is well within reason. When a company focuses on its own developments, it does it efficiently and offers a much lower price for it – there are no questions to such companies.
But when frank theft begins, it already goes beyond all limits. Even if we imagine that the Apple Watch made by Xiaomi will have all the same functions as the original, the fact of design theft (good or bad, we don’t say it right now) cannot be denied, and even more so, it’s impossible to “encourage the ruble”.
It is not known how Apple will react to this, but given that this is not the first case of theft by Chinese manufacturers who continue to steal ideas, it is unlikely that any sanctions will follow.
