Grand Theft Auto III
Originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2001, this is the first GTA in history with 3D graphics. Considered by far the best PlayStation 2 game, GTA: San Andreas was a revolution from the first minute of its launch. Since 2004 and until today, tens of millions of people have put themselves in the shoes of Carl “CJ” Johnson, the young gang member who is the protagonist of the title.
The beauty of this Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the immensity of its map, which allows the player to visit three main cities ( Los Santos, inspired by Los Angeles; San Fierro, based on San Francisco; and Las Venturas, a replica in miniature of Las Vegas) through an extensive map that also includes rural areas (there are twelve towns), mountains, deserts, a military base and even its own Hollywood.
On the other hand, GTA: San Andreas stands out for its movie-like plot, and we don’t say this just because Samuel L. Jackson doubles as the bad guy in the game, but because it has a hundred main and secondary missions that will take CJ along. a true epic that includes street gangs, corrupt police, and drug trafficking. In case you’re wondering, “San Andreas” is set in the early nineties, a time perfectly reflected in the game, both through the music and dialogues as well as the vehicles and different settings.
This is Rockstar Games’ biggest mobile release, bringing the title more than 70 hours of gameplay with high-resolution graphics remastered for mobile devices. Of course, it includes fully customizable controls and compatibility with Bluetooth and USB controllers.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

In any case, its Android version keeps this 2005 title intact, which stars the mobster Toni Cipriani, who will have to defend the Leone territory in Liberty City.
With a somewhat more relaxed plot than its older brothers, GTA: Liberty City Stories includes a variety of cars and weapons similar to that of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Otherwise, for 7.99 euros we received a classic Grand Theft Auto, this time set, of course, in 1998 and Italian-American mafia circles.
As with the rest of the games in the series, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories improves its textures in its mobile version and is compatible with controllers. Although it is not one of the best GTAs you can play, it is an essential title for those who want to delve deeper into the franchise, especially because of the nods to other GTAs that the main plot includes.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
GTA: Chinatown Wars is one of the most personal games in the saga since it recovers that aerial view of the first Grand Theft Auto. A curious move by Rockstar Games aimed at gaining an audience on Nintendo DS and PSP with a GTA especially focused on portable devices.
Gameplay aside, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars focuses on Huang Lee, a member of one of the most feared triads in Liberty City, who must enter a game of power and revenge between the city’s various mafias.
Originally released in 2009, the title has 63 main missions and nearly 20 secondary missions, which promise, together with its curious game system, a GTA experience unlike anything else. You can buy it on Google Play for 5.49 euros.

Of course, and as always happens with successful games, the Google Play Store abounds in GTA “clones”, some better achieved than others. Keep in mind that we are talking about dozens of games that try to replicate what was seen in the Grand Theft Auto saga, yes, with much less budget and large doses of incorporated advertising. For this reason, before installing a game similar to GTA, take a look at its rating on Google Play, you will save yourself some trouble.
Even so, saving the payment for an original Grand Theft Auto and betting on one of its free alternatives does not have to be all bad since there are some salvageable titles among the entire catalogue of the Google application store.

What is our opinion? Easy: The best GTA game for Android is GTA: San Andreas. Definitely.
Although it is the most expensive title in the Rockstar Games collection on Google Play, it is also the most complete game in the entire GTA saga. As if that were not enough, it is one of the highest-rated Grand Theft Autos by both specialized critics and the general public.
