All GTA is available on Android

Currently, you can download all Grand Theft Auto games by accessing the Rockstar Games profile on Google Play, where in addition to half a dozen GTA games ported to Android, you will also find well-known titles such as Bully or Max Payne.

Grand Theft Auto III

Originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2001, this is the first GTA in history with 3D graphics. Currently available on Google Play for 5.49 euros, GTA III takes place in the fictional city of Liberty City where Claude, a thief who has recently escaped from prison, will have to make his way through the city’s mafia fabric.

It is one of the most influential games of recent decades, especially for marking the future style of the Grand Theft Auto saga thanks to its then-revolutionary open world, its setting and its plot. If you are a true GTA fan you have to play it no matter what.

The mobile port of Grand Theft Auto II includes a complete graphical remaster in HD quality. In the same way, although GTA III includes touch controls adapted to this new mobile support, it is also compatible with controllers.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Grand Theft Auto Vice City
GTA: Vice City is full of references to action movies (shout out to Tarantino)

Yes, you read it right. The old Vice City can be played on Android and the best of all is that it only costs 5.49 euros (cheaper even than that famous PS2 Platinum version).

We are, without a doubt, before the most remembered GTA of the entire saga, especially for its plot full of black humour and its eighties setting, which transports us to the streets of Vice City, an outdated copy of that Miami seen in Scarface. There, Tommy Vercetti will have to make a name for himself among the local criminals, facing business corruption, drug “affairs” and Cuban and Haitian mafias.

The main addition of GTA: Vice City compared to GTA III is an even larger open world, which includes dozens of vehicles and weapons with which to make your way, all with a sensational background soundtrack that will transport you fully to the year’s eighty.

With its arrival on mobile phones, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City updates its graphics section, improving both the lighting and the character models. Of course, the original controls have been adapted to the mobile phone, although, as was the case in GTA III, it is also compatible with wireless controllers.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Considered by far the best PlayStation 2 game, GTA: San Andreas was a revolution from the first minute of its launch. Since 2004 and until today, tens of millions of people have put themselves in the shoes of Carl “CJ” Johnson, the young gang member who is the protagonist of the title.

The beauty of this Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the immensity of its map, which allows the player to visit three main cities ( Los Santos, inspired by Los Angeles; San Fierro, based on San Francisco; and Las Venturas, a replica in miniature of Las Vegas) through an extensive map that also includes rural areas (there are twelve towns), mountains, deserts, a military base and even its own Hollywood.

On the other hand, GTA: San Andreas stands out for its movie-like plot, and we don’t say this just because Samuel L. Jackson doubles as the bad guy in the game, but because it has a hundred main and secondary missions that will take CJ along. a true epic that includes street gangs, corrupt police, and drug trafficking. In case you’re wondering, “San Andreas” is set in the early nineties, a time perfectly reflected in the game, both through the music and dialogues as well as the vehicles and different settings.

This is Rockstar Games’ biggest mobile release, bringing the title more than 70 hours of gameplay with high-resolution graphics remastered for mobile devices. Of course, it includes fully customizable controls and compatibility with Bluetooth and USB controllers.

Its price? 7.99 euros, a small toll to enjoy what is possibly the best action, driving and shooting game you can play on Android.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories

Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories
GTA: Liberty City Stories maintains a graphic section very similar to that seen in GTA: Vice City

GTA: Liberty City Stories was created for PSP and was later ported to PlayStation 2, which is why its graphics look somewhat inferior to the previous title in the series, GTA: San Andreas. In any case, its Android version keeps this 2005 title intact, which stars the mobster Toni Cipriani, who will have to defend the Leone territory in Liberty City.

With a somewhat more relaxed plot than its older brothers, GTA: Liberty City Stories includes a variety of cars and weapons similar to that of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Otherwise, for 7.99 euros we received a classic Grand Theft Auto, this time set, of course, in 1998 and Italian-American mafia circles.

As with the rest of the games in the series, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories improves its textures in its mobile version and is compatible with controllers. Although it is not one of the best GTAs you can play, it is an essential title for those who want to delve deeper into the franchise, especially because of the nods to other GTAs that the main plot includes.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

GTA: Chinatown Wars is one of the most personal games in the saga since it recovers that aerial view of the first Grand Theft Auto. A curious move by Rockstar Games aimed at gaining an audience on Nintendo DS and PSP with a GTA especially focused on portable devices.

Gameplay aside, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars focuses on Huang Lee, a member of one of the most feared triads in Liberty City, who must enter a game of power and revenge between the city’s various mafias.

Originally released in 2009, the title has 63 main missions and nearly 20 secondary missions, which promise, together with its curious game system, a GTA experience unlike anything else. You can buy it on Google Play for 5.49 euros.

Games similar to GTA on Android (they are free)

Of course, and as always happens with successful games, the Google Play Store abounds in GTA “clones”, some better achieved than others. Keep in mind that we are talking about dozens of games that try to replicate what was seen in the Grand Theft Auto saga, yes, with much less budget and large doses of incorporated advertising. For this reason, before installing a game similar to GTA, take a look at its rating on Google Play, you will save yourself some trouble.

Even so, saving the payment for an original Grand Theft Auto and betting on one of its free alternatives does not have to be all bad since there are some salvageable titles among the entire catalogue of the Google application store.

MadOut2 BigCityOnline

Without a doubt, the best free alternative to GTA available on Android is MadOut2 BigCityOnline. A true Grand Theft Auto-style sandbox in which you can drive all types of vehicles and wreak havoc throughout its extensive world.

It includes a story mode with a wide variety of missions as well as an online mode that places up to 100 players on the map. Of course, although it is one of the main open-world titles and has millions of downloads, the game contains abundant advertising.

Gangstar Vegas

Developed by a mobile gaming titan like Gameloft (the studio responsible for Asphalt and Real Football), Gangstar Vegas offers you the chance to grow as a gang member in a world created for crime.

Explore a comprehensive map that includes everything from gang fights to motorcycle races. Throughout your city, you will find a large number of missions packed with explosive action.

Gangstar New Orleans

Gameloft repeats the formula of Gangstar Vegas with which today it is one of the benchmarks when it comes to action. In addition to the hundreds of vehicles included in the game, you will have a whole arsenal at your disposal with which to become the master of the city.

3D graphics, driving, shooting… Gangstar New Orleans is one of the best alternatives to GTA for Android, especially for its high graphic quality and the wide possibilities it offers in terms of the main plot: choose your path by completing different missions.

Dude Theft Wars

Dude Theft Wars

Dude Theft Wars stands as a parody of the Grand Theft Auto saga, a free alternative to GTA that includes an environment of chaos and destruction through which you can explore the fictional city of Dude-o-polis.

With hilarious graphics (in a good way), it offers a whole sandbox in which to do experiments that include shootouts and cars driving at high speeds, all in first person and with a completely hilarious community of players.

What is the best GTA for Android?

Taking into account that each GTA on Android costs a little more than 5 euros (about 6 dollars), getting the entire collection can cost us a pretty penny. For this reason, if you have never played any Grand Theft Auto, choosing a specific one to download can be a complicated task.

What is our opinion? Easy: The best GTA game for Android is GTA: San Andreas. Definitely.

Although it is the most expensive title in the Rockstar Games collection on Google Play, it is also the most complete game in the entire GTA saga. As if that were not enough, it is one of the highest-rated Grand Theft Autos by both specialized critics and the general public.

Right now it is also one of the main paid games that you can find on Google Play (if not the best, in case you have not played it before), that is why our recommendation is unanimous: download it because it is worth it, it is one of the most recognized open world games in history.
