ab Extreme gets Android 14 developer preview

In addition to OnePlus 11, Nothing Phone 1, Vivo X90 Pro, Xiaomi 12T, Xiaomi 13 (Pro), iQOO 11, Realme GT 2 Pro, and some others, the Android 14 developer preview is now available for many high-end devices. Lenovo has announced the Android 14 beta program for the Tab Extreme with model number TB570FU. There is a limit to the beta access for this particular model. The company said the first beta is unsuitable for general use, developers can test it out for free by sideloading the beta on their Lenovo Tab Extreme.

The first beta has the following known issues.

  • There is no support for Face Unlock

  • The TOF sensor-related function has been removed

  • The stylus key function is not supported, but the basic functions are

  • Two-finger touchpad functions are not supported

  • The touchpad does not support swipes with 3 or 4 fingers up, down, left, or right

  • There is no support for Miracast

  • The developer menu can be turned on to support screen output via cable (extended screen)

  • There is no guarantee that the VPN will work properly because it has not been tested

  • The WIDI protocol is not supported

  • Playback of videos may be affected by audio problems

  • Sometimes the settings may display abnormally, but by reselecting or deleting recent apps, it will work as expected

  • There is no support for One Vision

In terms of features, Android 14 has new smart scaling, better battery life, restrict access to photos and videos, satellite connectivity, app cloning, predictive back gestures, security enhancements, and more. Based on the April 2023 monthly security patch, the first beta is available.

Lenovo Tab Extreme owners can download the Android 14 first beta installation package and check how to install it from Lenovo’s website if they want to install Android 14 on their tablets.
