Snapchat Launches Special Filters

It is not so uncommon to see posts on one social network that have been made on others. Tweets ‘printed’ and pasted into Instagram Stories; TikTok videos being posted on Facebook and so on. From this, Snap, the company behind Snapchat, is launching augmented reality (AR) filters specifically for TikTok.

There are four filters in total created in partnership with popular users of the social network TikTok. Thus, each filter has specific characteristics to attract more people. The filters are:

  • Jalaiah Harmon: reads the movement of the body and creates animations that move

  • Dixie D’Amelio: brings cartoon effects, lightning and fireworks

  • Sarati: this makes short words appear and disappear, following the movements of the highlighted character

  • Loren Gray: draws lines, curves, stars and more around the featured character’s body

Accepting the rival

Basically, that’s what Snapchat did. Knowing that people post videos with their lenses on other platforms, she understood the behavior and adapted to this form of use. Thus, users can take advantage of the AR filters in videos recorded on Snapchat to be published on the neighboring social network.

According to Snap, the new filters can track 18 joints throughout the body and are already available at ‘Lens Studio’. With the launch, the company makes it clear that users tend to browse both platforms. And so they can take advantage of Snap tools elsewhere, as pointed out by The Verge.
