Motorola has announced that in the very near future Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play smartphones will receive an upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie. More specifically, at the moment there is a final stage of testing. A limited number of users of the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play from Brazil have already received an update, but in all regions, it will become available over the coming weeks.

For Moto G6 and Moto G6, the update will bring a new redesigned and simplified user interface, a new navigation system using gestures, optimization of battery consumption and adapted screen brightness (Adaptive Battery and Adaptive Brightness functions), as well as an updated, Do Not Disturb mode and new sounds, notifications, icons. In addition, the firmware contains fixes for previously detected errors and a fresh Android security patch for the month of January.
