If you’ve just purchased your Huawei Band 7 fitness tracker and need to configure it, see this tutorial for all the necessary instructions. We’ll teach you how to pair with your cell phone, turn on notifications, change watch faces, start a workout, monitor sleep, and check your blood oxygen level and heart rate.

Huawei Band 7 smart bracelet is one of the best smartbands developed by Huawei. It comes with a 1.47-inch AMOLED screen and its battery can last up to ten days. It has SpO2 and heart rate monitoring. It also has over 4,000 watch faces to use as the bracelet face. It has the features of incoming calls and messages, weather forecasts and music control, and much more.
Before pairing the band, you must download and install the Huawei Health app on your phone. If you already have the app installed, make sure it’s the latest version.
Step 1: Turn on the bracelet by holding the side button for a few seconds. Then select the language.
Step 2: Download and install the Huawei Health app on your mobile phone. You can download it from the Play Store for Android or the App Store for iPhones. Alternatively, you can download the App by scanning the QR Code below. Then turn on Bluetooth and Mobile Location.
Step 3: Once you have installed Huawei Health on your phone, open it, sign in with your account and click on “create one” and follow the instructions.
Step 4: After being directed to the App home screen, tap on “Devices” located at the bottom. Then tap on “Add” and on the next screen tap on “Smart Band”.
Step 5: Wait for the screen to refresh and for all available bracelet models to appear. After that, tap on “Huawei Band 7”. On the next screen, tap on “Pair”.
Step 6: The app will start searching for the bracelet. When you find it, tap “Link” and wait for the pairing process.
Step 7: When a pairing request appears on the device screen, tap “ √ ” to confirm.
Step 8: Follow the onscreen instructions to complete pairing.
Enabling notifications on the Huawei Band 7
Once this feature is activated, the bracelet will sync with mobile notifications such as Messages, Emails, Calendars, social media app notifications, SMS, and more. Remember that you must have given all the permissions requested by the App.
Open the Huawei Health app and tap on “Devices” and select Huawei Band 7.
Tap “Notifications” and enable the apps you want to receive real-time notifications on the bracelet.
Changing the watch face of the Huawei Band 7 (watch face)
Check out the steps to change the watch face of your Huawei Band 7 bracelet. You can use one of the methods below to select and change the watch face of your bracelet.
Method 1:
From the bracelet’s home screen, tap and hold until it vibrates.
When the screen zooms out and swipes left or right to view the available watch faces options.
After choosing the watch face, tap it to select it.
Method 2:
Go to Settings > Display and tap Watch face.
Swipe left or right on the screen and select your preferred watch face.
Method 3:
Make sure the bracelet is already paired with the cell phone.
Open the Huawei Health App and go to Watch Face Store.
Tap “More” select the watch face and tap “Install”.
The display will be installed automatically
Alternatively, tap on the watch face you installed and tap on “Set as Default”.
Starting a workout on the Huawei Band 7
See how to start, pause or stop a workout from the band or app. After completing your exercise, you will be able to view all the data, such as training duration, calories lost, graphs, and heart rate range, among others.
On the bracelet, go to the apps list and tap Workout.
Swipe up or down on the screen and select the exercise you want to do.
Tap a workout icon to start a workout.
Stopping or pausing a workout:
When the screen is on, press and hold the side button to stop the workout.
Press the button to pause the workout and tap again to resume the workout.
Start a workout using the Huawei Health app:
In the App, go to the Exercise tab and select the workout you want to do.
Tap the star icon to start the workout.
After finishing a workout, tap the pause icon, tap and hold the end icon, and select “End” to end the workout.
Monitoring heart rate and sleep on Huawei Band 7
Before starting heart rate measurement with Huawei Band 7, make sure you stand still and the band is relatively steady during the procedure. To avoid changes in the results, avoid placing it on the wrist bone and make sure the heart rate sensor is in contact with the skin.
Monitoring heart rate:
Note: Some external factors may interfere with the accuracy of the results, such as low temperature in the room or environment, arm movements, or tattoos.
Individual heart rate measurement:
Open the Huawei Health app and tap Devices.
Select Huawei Band 7 and then go to the “Health” section.
Tap Monitoring > Continuous Heart Rate Monitoring and turn off Continuous Heart Rate Monitoring.
On the device, enter the application list and select Heart Rate to measure your heart rate.
Continuous heart rate measurement:
Open the Huawei Health app, tap Devices, then your device name.
Go to Health Monitoring > Continuous Heart Rate Monitoring and turn on Continuous Heart Rate Monitoring.
Viewing heart rate data:
• On the device, enter the application list and select Heart Rate to view your heart rate.
• Open the Huawei Health app, go to Me > My Data > Health Measurements > Heart Rate and view your heart health data
Monitoring sleep:
Learn how to monitor your sleep duration on the bracelet. After you enable the TruSleep feature, the Huawei Band will automatically detect when you are in deep sleep, light sleep, or REM sleep. Follow the instructions to activate the feature:
Open the Huawei Health app, tap Devices, and select the band.
Then go to Health monitoring > TruSleep and enable this feature.
Once that’s done, the app will now provide you with information about your sleep, analyzing the quality to help you understand patterns and suggest improvements to your sleep quality.
Note: If TruSleep is not enabled, the band will track your sleep on a regular basis.
Measuring the SpO2 level on the Huawei Band 7
Huawei Band 7 wristband supports automatic SpO2 monitoring. It will automatically alert you every time your blood oxygen level deviates from the preset healthy range. See the steps below to learn how to take the measurement:
Single SpO2 measurement:
Press the side button to enter the application list.
Then swipe down and tap SpO2 to start measuring your blood oxygen level.
Upon completion of the measurement, the test will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Automatic SpO2 measurement:
Open the Huawei Health app, tap Devices, then tap the bracelet name.
Then tap Health monitoring and enable automatic SpO2 measurement.
The device will then automatically measure and record your blood oxygen level when it detects that you are standing still.
Note: The measurement will stop if you swipe right on the device screen, receive an
incoming call, or when an alarm is activated. Results are for reference only and are not intended for medical use.
Activating the Huawei Band 7 screen lock
You can set a PIN to restrict access to the bracelet to keep your privacy. However, after setting the PIN and enabling Auto Lock, you will need to enter the PIN to unlock and enter the bracelet screen.
Configuring a PIN:
From the bracelet home screen, swipe down and go to Settings > PIN > Enable PIN and follow the onscreen instructions to set a PIN.
Then turn on auto lock by going to Settings > PIN and turn on Auto-lock.
Note: If you forget your PIN, you will need to reset your device to factory settings.
