The new version of the updated ad OxygenOS 11.2.5.5 has recently been released for the current top-of-the-range OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro of the Chinese company. The new package brings with it some important software fixes and optimizations, which accompany the May 2021 security patch.
OnePlus updates OxygenOS by making some corrections and some optimizations
Although the update has not yet been officially confirmed, in a thread on the OnePlus forums some owners have confirmed that they already receive the OTA package for the new version of the system. The company has this time brought the May 2021 security patch, after the criticisms received previously.
If you are the owner of the top of the range for which the update is intended, this includes some fixes for a strange bug that caused the keyboard to slow down and freeze, as well as some fixes for the camera as well, together with some additions like some changes to the white balance and also to the HDR effect, which has now been adjusted for specific lighting conditions. Other important fixes include improved Wi-Fi and data connections.

Fixed an issue that caused the keyboard to crash or lag;
Fixed known issues and improved system stability;
Update of the Android security patch to version 2021.05; - Camera
Improved the HDR effect in some specific lighting situations;
Improved the white balance performance of the rear camera; - Network

Improve the performance of the Wi-Fi connection.
As mentioned initially, the update has not yet been “officially” confirmed by OnePlus. Taking this into account, it is not yet known when the update will be available for everyone, in particular for our area. The update package has the size of 130 MB however, it may already be available using Oxygen Updater, provided you install it through the procedure of sideloading.
