Today, in Zurich, Switzerland, OPPO conducted an international presentation of the new line of Reno smartphones. It includes three devices at once: Reno 5G, Reno and Reno 10x Zoom. We also learned the start date of sales and European prices for new products.
“The Reno series will be an important stage for the further development of OPPO smartphones, as well as an integral part of our global brand development strategy for OPPO,” said Alain Wu, president of the international business unit OPPO.
Reno smartphones have a unique swiveling sliding panel. This solution made it possible to hide the front camera, the speaker, and the flashes inside the case so that the screen occupied the entire front surface. The panel opens in just 0.8 seconds.
In the Reno series smartphones, the manufacturer removed the main camera for the 3D Corning Gorilla 5 glass, due to which the back panel turned out to be even. In addition, the novelties have made a ceramic semicircular ledge, which creates a small gap. When the smartphone is on the table, the protrusion protects the camera’s lenses from contact with the surface.
OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is equipped with a 6.6-inch AMOLED display, 2340×1080 pixels resolution and 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. The standard Reno has a similar screen, but with a diagonal of 6.4 inches. Due to the thin frame, the ratio of the display area to the area of the front panel is 93.1%. In all models of the Reno series, the screen is covered with the sixth generation Corning Gorilla Glass.
The Reno 10x Zoom has a triple camera, which includes the main 48-megapixel camera, an ultra wide 8-megapixel camera, and a 13-megapixel telephoto camera. All three modules operate simultaneously, which allows you to optimize the image in different zoom ranges to ensure a 10x zoom without loss of quality. In addition, the Reno 10x Zoom used a double optical stabilization system for the main lens.
Below you can rate examples of photos from Reno 10x Zoom:
The Reno 10x Zoom model is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. The standard version of the Reno is equipped with a Snapdragon 710 processor. Reno smartphones have capacious batteries with support for the third generation VOOC fast charging technology. It allows you to maintain high voltage during compensating charging and prolongs the operation time of devices. Reno 10x Zoom is equipped with a 4065 mAh battery, while the usual OPPO Reno uses a 3765 mAh battery.
For gamers, the updates have implemented Game Boost 2.0 technology, which includes Touch Boost and Frame Boost functions. The first increases the speed of response to the player’s touch, due to which the sight in PUBG Mobile is 21.6% faster. The frame Boost function is responsible for the stability of the frame rate per second while maintaining the smoothness of the gameplay even in the most intense moments of the match.
New Reno running operating system Android 9.0 Pie with a proprietary interface ColorOS 6. The new version of the firmware improved personal and game helpers refined the navigation bar and smart control system that automatically closes unused applications after a certain period of time.
Since 2015, OPPO has been preparing for the transition to the 5G standard. Therefore, sales of Reno 5G start in Switzerland, where the local operator Swisscom actively supports the project of deploying fifth-generation networks OPPO 5G Landing Project and two weeks ago in Zurich launched the 5G network.
