Android and iOS will Stop Supporting WhatsApp

The technical support service of the WhatsApp messenger, which is owned by Facebook, announces the termination of the software on older versions of the Android and iOS operating systems. The application will no longer be supported on devices running versions of Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and iOS 9, as well as older versions of these OSs.

On smartphones running the listed OS versions, WhatsApp will stop working on February 1, 2020. After this date, users will no longer be able to register or log into existing WhatsApp accounts. In addition, the messenger technical support page states: “Since we are no longer actively developing improvements for these operating systems, some functions may stop working at any time.”

We also note that on December 31, the WhatsApp messenger stopped working on Windows Phone.
