This method is for the user who has access to the google play site on their Chromebook. This method is the same as we install other applications from the google play store. the user who doesn’t have access to the play store on their Chromebook can use another method that is listed below in this guide.
So let’s start installing Kodi player on Chromebook via google store. Follow the steps below.
- Launch the google play store on your Chromebook
- you will see the search icon at the top of the screen.
- In this search option, you can search for any app you want to install. As we are going to install Kodi so type it and press Enter.
- If you don’t like to type you can also give it a command via voice search.
- Kodi should appear in the list of results.
When the search result appears there are many applications with the Kodi keyword but you have to install an official app that is made by the developer XMBC Foundation and it is free.
- Now click on it and confirm the installation
- Installation may take some time depending on your internet connection speed.

#2: First of all download the arc welder extension on your Chromebook via this link.
#3: After installing the extension go to Kodi’s official website then go to the download page and download the Android ver of Kodi.
- Note: There are two versions of Kodi player on this page 32-bit and one 64-bit.
Depending on your operating system and your Chromebook model, you will have to download one or the other.
So as per your Chromebook and your OS download the version which is suitable for you.
Your version will almost certainly be the 64-bit version, but when in doubt, type “chrome://help” in the Chrome search bar and check if the version of Chrome is 32-bit or 64-bit.
- If your version is 32 bits, download the ARMV7A (32BIT) file
- If your version is 64 bits, download the ARMV8A (64BIT) file
#4: Open Arc Welder on the Chromebook after downloading the file. You’ll notice that the UI is very straightforward. You must click on the icon with the “+” symbol in this interface.
