Install android app on multiple devices at the same time

Install android app on multiple devices

If you have several Android devices under your belt and you want them all to have the same application installed, it will not be necessary for you to download said app on each of those devices.

Thanks to the different functions that Google added to its application store, Play Store, it is no longer necessary to download applications individually on each of the devices that have Android inside.

By allowing app syncing, the Google Play Store can take care of such a task in a matter of seconds. Of course, the devices must have the same Google account that we use on our main device.

Install an Android app on different devices at the same time

Released in early 2023, the function that synchronizes apps between multiple devices must be activated manually. If you don’t know where it is, we invite you to follow the steps that we are going to show you below.

Install an Android app on different devices

  • The first thing you will have to do is open the Play Store from your mobile device.
  • Within the Android app store, you must click on your account, which is located in the upper right corner of the screen.
  • A new window will open, there you will have to enter the section called “Manage device and apps”.
  • Then, you must click on “Synchronize apps with devices”.

Synchronize apps with devices

  • Select the devices you want to automatically sync with the Play Store.
  • Once selected, click on the small arrow that appears at the top left of the screen.
  • When you go to install an app, you will see a small arrow to the right of the button that says “Install.”
  • Google Play will show you those devices where it will carry out the respective download and subsequent installation.

As we clarified a few paragraphs above, all devices must have the same Google account for this utility to work correctly. Likewise, the Play Store will only install those applications that are compatible with all the devices that have been selected.

Lastly, this feature imposes limitations on the number of devices that can be synced, as well as the type of devices. Basically, you can install the same app on mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets and smart televisions (they must have Android TV or Google TV inside).
