As the name implies, the DNS is a system of domain names. It is the Internet Telephone Guide. When you want to navigate, you write the domain name of the page because it is easier to remember, for example, «Www.androidphoria.com».

What a DNS service does is translate the domain name to the IP address (A numerical address, for example «172.217.160.142») that is what computers and servers need to find the website you want to navigate (they do not understand the «Www.androidphoria.com»,  so the importance of the DNS).

Without a DNS service, we would have to remember complex numbers for each site we visited, which would be impossible and not very practical. Now, you should know that the DNS is configured by default on your internet. Most likely, you are using the private DNS of the Internet provider you have hired.

However, private DNS are usually not so fast or safe. Therefore, many users change to Public DNS faster and fastersuch as that of Google (8.8.8.8) and Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) … The problem with these? They are from private US companies that are being done with European navigation data.

This is where the new DNS4EUa Public and European DNS Service has launched in the EU. It has been created to be a safe alternative to other global DNS services and to boost the European digital sovereigntyavoiding dependence on digital services from other countries.
