How To Setup a Language on Kodi?

After a fresh installation, Kodi’s user interface is set to English by default. If that bothers you, it’s easy to change it to your own language or one of the other languages it supports.

This time, we’ll show you how to set up a language in Kodi and put it in any other language. Thanks to its easy-to-use interface, this is a pretty straightforward process. Kodi is available in nearly 75 languages, and many of them are already part of the installation process.

There are different ways to set up a language in Kodi, both inside the app and without opening it. Most people say these things:

Change language from Add-ons download

  • Go to the main screen of Kodi and click on the Add-ons menu.
  • Move your cursor over “Downloads” in the left column.
  • …then go to the category “Look and Feel”
  • …and choose “Language.”
  • You can now see all the language addons for Kodi that are built into the repository. Find and click on the language you want to use.
  • To get the language pack, click Install. You will then be asked to change the language of the installation.

Change language offline

As you can see, you need a good network connection to use the above methods.

If you want to change Kodi’s language on a device that doesn’t have access to the internet, the following steps may help.

The official website, http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/, is where you can get the zipped Kodi language addon.
Go to http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/matrix/ to find your version of Kodi. Here, I’m using “Matrix” as an example.
Scroll down the page until you find all the “resource.language.XXXX/” language plugins.

Click on the language you want and save the.zip file.

Don’t open the zip file. Now, use a USB cable, USB flash drive, etc. to move the compressed language and Kodi installers to another device.

Once Kodi is installed, enable installation from Unknown Sources and go to the Add-ons menu on the home screen > Add-ons Browser > Install from zip file.

Find the location of the.zip file you downloaded and install the language plugin.

You will then be asked to change the language of the installation.
