How to protect Telegram messages with a password on Android

If you own one Android smartphone, you can protect your Telegram messages using a password or Fingerprint.

To set it up, open the Telegram app on your Android smartphone, then click on the three-line menu button in the upper left corner. From here, click on “Settings”, then select “Privacy and security”, then “Access Code”. At this point, create an access code numeric to four numbers and enter it to save the passcode.

At this point, you will notice that the feature is enabled – by default – as well as “Unlock with fingerprint”. If you don’t want to unlock Telegram using your fingerprint, you can safely disable this feature.

By default, Telegram blocks automatically after an hour. You can of course change the time from 1 minute to 45 hours by clicking on the “Automatic block” option. Also from this menu, you can disable the automatic lock function. When finished, click on the “Finish” button to save all changes.

If you wish to lock manually your Telegram app, access the “Chat” screen and click on the lock icon. How to protect Telegram messages with a password on iPhone

Even if you own an iPhone, you can protect Telegram by setting a password or using Touch ID or Face ID.

To get started, open the Telegram app on your iPhone, go to “Settings”, then go to the section “Privacy and security” and choose the “Password and Face ID” option. On this screen, click on “Activate password” and enter a six-digit code. Then click on “Password options” to view different versions of the same: you can choose to set a numeric code four-digit or an alphanumeric code longer It is customized.
