Google apps on a Huawei with Googlefier

We all know that the new Huawei and Honor devices launched last year do not come with Google Mobile Services (GMS) pre-installed. The new Mate 40 series: it’s an incredible piece of hardware, but it doesn’t have GMS. While Huawei provides valid alternatives to GMS in the form of HMS Core and its set of Google Application Alternatives, some users may miss some of their favorite apps.

Several ways to install GMS on Huawei and Honor devices have already emerged, but all methods published so far can be a bit complicated for the average user. This is where the new Googlefier application comes in.

How to install Google apps on a Huawei smartphone with Googlefier

Googlefier is essentially an unofficial GMS installer for the XDA Senior Member bender_007, known for his work on the mythical Xda Developers. The Googlefier provides step by step easy to follow to install GMS and Google applications on your Huawei Honor or device without the need to connect to a PC. Just install the APK of the forum topic on the link below and install it on your device.

Once installed, grant the application all necessary permissions and follow the steps described to have the GMS on your phone.

During the installation process, Googlefier will first replace the existing backup application and restore LZPlay. LZPlay, if you remember correctly, is the name of the GMS application / installation method that was released after the launch of Mate 30. With that done, Googlefier will install basic services on your device.

To do this, simply follow the instructions on the screen. After completing all five steps, the user will be able to install the Google Play Store and other Google applications on the device and then log in to their Google account. The whole process takes about 5 to 7 minutes and if you follow the instructions correctly, there should be no errors.

I tested Googlefier on a Huawei P40 Pro and Mate Xs with EMUI 10 and it worked perfectly.

The video below shows the installation process on the P40 Pro.

We must point out that if you upgrade to EMUI 11, Googlefier does not work.

If you have already tried to install Google applications on your device using a different method, we suggest that you reset the device and start over with Googlefier. This ensures that no errors are found during the installation process.

It is important to note that the application also includes a feature that allows you to easily undo all changes and restore your Huawei device to its pre-GMS state.

NOTE: In some cases, it may be necessary to Downgrade your firmware, I leave below an Infographic that helps answer some questions about whether your equipment is compatible with this method or not:
