How to choose TWS earbuds?
How to choose the right TWS earbuds for you? What do you need to know to choose the right Bluetooth headphones? We tell you about 7 important, key conditions!
There is no doubt that the era of conventional, wired headphones is ending and the era of Bluetooth TWS begins. If a couple of years ago wireless headphones were a gimmick, now TWS is worn by everyone and everywhere.
The new version of Bluetooth 5.0 provides faster and more stable transmission speed, less power consumption. The maximum transfer rate of Bluetooth 5.0 is 24Mbps, which is twice the speed of version 4.2. The maximum distance has also increased and can reach up to 300 meters, which is four times that of version 4.2. During testing, we found that Bluetooth 5.0 headphones perform better than Bluetooth 4.2 and 4.1 in terms of signal stability, power consumption, and sound quality.
2. Audio control
Thanks to the control buttons on the headphones, you can not take the phone out of your pocket and easily control music, activate the voice assistant, and take a call.
There is a traditional control using physical buttons, as well as touch. Of course, the touch control is more technological, but there may be disadvantages: delay in pressing insufficient or hypersensitivity. Physical buttons have no such problems.
3. Soundproofing and noise reduction
Soundproofing and noise cancellation are essential for you to enjoy your music. Basically, there are two forms of TWS headphones: vacuum (“plugs”), which are completely in the ear and in-ear, with a small foot. Both forms have their own advantages and disadvantages.
Earbuds put less pressure on your ears and are more comfortable to wear over long periods of time, but most earbuds are less effective at isolating noise. Vacuum headphones are good at isolating noise, but they will press in the auricle. Also, it is worth noting that some headphones have intelligent noise canceling and can adapt to different environmental conditions.
4. Portable charging case
The charging case is an integral part of TWS as it affects the portability of the earbuds. Some Bluetooth headphones on the market are quite large, since they are equipped with large batteries, and therefore the case is not very small, and this is not convenient and not beautiful if you are going to put it in your pocket. Therefore, compromises must be sought.
5. Seamless connection
With some headphones, the pairing steps are quite quick, in a couple of clicks, while with others, you need to tinker. When buying, try connecting the headphones yourself once to see how easy the connection is. If it’s simple, then it is worth considering buying, if not, then look for other headphones.
Modern TWS headphones need to be waterproof to prevent sweat or rain from breaking a high-tech device in a couple of seconds. The maximum water permeability of some headphones can reach the IPX8 protection standard. If you plan to swim in headphones, it is better to take it with this level of protection, in other cases, not lower than IPX5.
7. Audio codecs
There are many Bluetooth codecs, if you are not a picky user, then the SBC protocol support in TWS headphones is enough for you. For music lovers, you need to look for headphones with support for the AAC or APTX codec, they practically do not distort the audio quality.
