Create your to-do list with Alexa and Google Calendar

You will not only be able to review all the tasks that you have pending, but also create new tasks. To do this you must say ” Alexa, write on the calendar appointment with the dentist on Friday at 2 in the afternoon.”

In order to add a new task to the list, it is important that you start by saying “Mark it on the calendar” because if you use another phrase it is possible that it will take the task as a reminder.

If you want to know what your next appointments are, you should ask, “Alexa, what’s on the calendar?”

That’s how easy it is to integrate the Google calendar with Alexa. You can now see the Google calendar on your Amazon Echo. You can also do the opposite and set Alexa as your voice assistant on Android and take advantage of Amazon’s assistant on your smartphone.

How to link and use your calendar with Alexa

Alexa is an excellent personal organizer and assistant, but you must add your calendars to truly take control of your day. Alexa supports calendars from Google, Apple, and Microsoft (Outlook/Hotmail), so compatibility should be no problem.

You can simply ask Alexa how your day or week is going, or what appointments you have left before heading home for a well-deserved nap. However, in order to get there, you’ll need to configure your calendars with your Amazon Alexa account.

How does it work, and, more importantly, which calendar systems can it connect to?

Let’s get started.

How to add your calendar to Alexa

Before you do anything else, you’ll need to launch the Alexa app and connect your calendars.

. Tap More.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Scroll down to Calendar & Email
4. Choose your calendar service.

Here, you have three choices: Apple, Microsoft, and Google.

There are several requirements for signing in to each account.

For instance, you’ll need to create an app-specific password for Alexa to use if you have an Apple account with two-factor verification.

Once you do that, all your calendars from that service will be synced. If you want to omit some calendars, do the following:

1. Head back to the Calendar & Email section in Settings.
2. Click on your calendar service.
3. Uncheck what you don’t want to see.

Now, here’s where Alexa gets tricky. You’ll need to decide on one calendar for Alexa to add events to. Unfortunately, it can’t add stuff to various calendars. Here are some tips for selecting your one unique calendar.

1. Back to the Calendar & Email section in Settings you go.
2. Look under where it says “Alexa will add new events to this calendar…”
3. Choose the calendar you want Alexa to add events to.

You’re all set, bang. Now Alexa can read your calendar appointments and add new events to the calendar of your choice.

Unfortunately, you are unable to create multiple profiles with individual calendars. Therefore, it might be worthwhile to utilize a shared calendar as your “creation calendar” if you have a family or a partner.

Additionally, you can invite people to calendar events, You can also invite people calendar events, but you’ll need to make sure you have them in your contacts and that you have an email address associated with that person.

If you don’t, Alexa will add that person’s name to the details of your event; however, you will be responsible for sending out the invitation yourself.

Speaking of inviting others to your events…Whether that other individual has given Alexa access to their own calendar, Alexa will check to see if they are available. If they aren’t, it will suggest a time that is more convenient for you both. Similarly, if you move your meeting to a time when you will be double-booked, Alexa will notify you.

Turn on Alexa calendar notifications

You can ask Alexa to read out the dates, times, and events on your calendar. Follow these steps to set this up:

1. Head into the Calendar & Email section in Settings
2. Tap the account you want notifications for.
3. Tap the Calendar Notifications toggle to on.
