It is possible that the black version is specially optimized for AMOLED screens. The black pixels on these screens are actually turned off, which allows gadgets to consume less power.
In addition to the mode itself, appropriate wallpapers for the messenger will be added so that it better matches the dark color scheme and at the same time has the ability to customize.
The beta version also showed a new option that will allow you to completely hide notifications from contacts that you sent to silent mode. Currently, if you disconnect a contact, its notifications will be displayed in gray, but still remain visible.

There is no exact information at the moment, but there are a number of assumptions regarding the fact that the dark theme will become available on devices running iOS and Android by the end of this 2019.
