Most users use the Mi Home app installed on smartphones to monitor live, record, and rotate cameras remotely. However, viewing and having all these features on a larger screen would be much better. You can install the official Mi Home app on your PC or emulate it with the help of BlueStacks. For this, see all the possibilities below.
Main functions of the program:
- Ability to adjust the camera such as video quality, sleep, status lights, etc.
- Discovery configuration support, including registry management.
- Built-in functions for camera playback, pausing, fast-forwarding and rewinding a recorded video, turning the sound on and off, etc.
- Possibility to operate multiple cameras at the same time, dividing the screen into 1, 4, or 9 windows.
- Possibility to move the orientation of compatible cameras.
Method 1: Installing Mi Camera on PC
Make sure all devices are on a mainland Chinese server. Currently, only devices that are linked to this server are supported. Mi Camera will only work when the user is logged into their Mi Home account. Therefore, it is necessary to enter the username and password in your main window.
Mi Camera is currently compatible with Mi 1080p Basic and Mi 1080p 360 security cameras. Previously it was only possible to view Mi security cameras on the PC using emulators. Currently, the program only runs on Windows XP, 7, 8, and 10 operating systems. If you want to use this method to install the application on your PC, follow the steps in this one:
- Download the latest version of Mi Camera to your PC.
- On the page, click on the orange “ Windows ” button to download.
Changing the server realm:
However, this change is not done only, you need to modify the code in the file in your dll. Even so, this is still the best option at the moment for viewing live images from the cameras on your PC.
Now when you open the installed app, it will only be able to stream cameras in the Mainland China region to adjust the app according to your region, just follow the steps below:
Go to the installation folder “ C:\Program Files(x86)\imilab\С°×ÖÇ¼Ò “.
Look for the “ config.dll ” file. In it, the server region will be changed. By default, it is configured for Mainland China.
Now open the config.dll in notepad. You will see two lines, the first “ machine-code ” is for the language and the other represents the server’s region.
The machine code will be set to “ on “, you just need to override these values according to your region using the codes mentioned below.
- Use “sg” for the Middle East and Asia region
- Use “i2” for the Indian region
- Use “from” for Europe and UK region
- Use “USA” for the North and South America region
After making the change in the file’s dll, click on “ Save ”.
After completing the above steps, see below what you should do to view images from the cameras on your computer.
Logging into the Mi account:
Once you have saved your country’s region in the config.dll file, open Mi Camera, log in with your mobile number with OTP, or use your email ID and password to access your cameras.
Make sure you have added cameras to your Mi Home Mobile App. After logging in, you will be able to switch to view multiple cameras, control audio, pause feed, and other available functions.
Method 2: Installing and configuring Mi Home on Windows PC

Then click the “ camera ” icon to launch the MI Home Security Camera application on PC.
