Google Maps indeed released Live View walking directions almost a year agoThis enabled us to follow instructions on foot using the phone’s camera to recognize where we were positioned concerning the landmarks and other visual references of Google’s Street View images. This functionality is still present for users who use the stable version of Google Maps, although it only works with devices that support ARCore technology. Also, there is another limitation and that is that the area must be available in Street View.
Thanks to this functionality, when we are lost between narrow streets or that is the first time we step on, we can use Live View AR to identify our location and get to our destination more quickly.
For everything to work correctly, you must grant Maps access to your camera, and all you have to do is scan the environment so that the application tells you exactly where you are and you can continue on your way.
