OTG is the technology that allows you to use external peripherals on your Android mobile. Thanks to it, you can connect pen drives, controllers, keyboards, mice, flashlights, among other things, to your device through its micro USB or USB-C port (with an adapter in between). The vast majority of current Android smartphones support this technology, but not all have it activated as standard.

OPPO smartphones are one of those few Android devices that come with OTG compatibility disabled at the factory. If you have an OPPO mobile and it does not recognize a USB or other peripheral that you want to connect to it, this problem is likely because you do not have the OTG connection activated.

You must activate the OTG connection this way

The first thing you have to know is that not all OPPO phones have OTG. And it is not a feature that you can install on your device, but rather it depends on its hardware.

Are you already sure that your OPPO mobile is compatible with OTG? Then do the following to enable this connection:

• Open the Settings app on your OPPO.
• Select Additional Settings.
• Press the OTG connection option to activate it.

Keep in mind that you must repeat these steps practically every time you are going to connect a peripheral via OTG to your OPPO since in these mobiles the OTG connection is automatically deactivated after 10 minutes without using it. We do not know exactly why the OTG connection works like this on OPPO smartphones, but luckily it is not difficult to activate it.
