Google Camera 8.9 for Sony Xperia 5 V

Sony Xperia 5 V is the toned-down version of its newest flagship smartphone, Sony Xperia 1 V, which also means it has a great camera. A 48MP primary Sony ExmorT IMX 888 sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor are included in the Xperia 5 V’s camera array. Its large sensor makes it a good phone for taking photos. It is good news that Sony Xperia 5 Mark 5 sporting Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Pixel Camera have been ported to work with this chipset and software on Xperia 5 V. Needless to say, Xperia smartphones already have some of the best photography apps available.

With the smartphone, you get three camera apps: Photography Pro, Video Pro, and Cinema Pro. The three apps all work well and take nice photos. Yes, the quality of the photos is excellent under all conditions. Sony introduced Night Mode this year and it works okay, but it isn’t quite as good as Pixel Camera.

There are several useful features in the Google Camera mod, such as Astrophotography mode, Night Sight, SloMo, HDR Enhanced, Lens Blur, RAW support, etc. Now let’s look at how to download and install the Google Camera application on the Sony Xperia 5 V.

A lot of the software on the Sony Xperia 5 V is the same as it is on the Xperia 1 V, so you can install the GCam app on your phone right away, as it supports Camera2 API out-of-the-box. Once you open the Google Camera, swipe down to open settings, select Configs under Settings, and then load the config file you downloaded earlier.

Even though GCam 8.9 does not need many settings configured, you can nevertheless customize GCam settings according to your needs.
