As said several times, Xiaomi and Redmi love the strategy that we have defined as “smartphone satellites“, With the launch of the main model and a series of other smartphones that, having the same name but with the addition of a suffix such as Lite, Pro, Ultra or Max, which revolve around.
We had an example with it Xiaomi Mi 10 or, on the Redmi front, with the K20 and K30 series. Well, it seems that with Redmi K40 there will be no difference.
A new post on Weibo from the leaker Digital Chat Station has revealed that the next Redmi K40 series could be launched in the fourth quarter of 2020. Reportedly, the standard version of the new generation will also sport the equally new SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 775.
The leaker’s report comes after a recent leak that allowed us to discover that the Redmi K30 Ultra is on the launch pad with the news of MediaTek’s SoC Dimensity 1000+.
According to Digital Chat Station, following this product line, the next Redmi K40 series will have both a K40 base that will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2020, but also a Pro variant which, however, will be launched in the first quarter of 2021.
From the indiscretion, we learn then that for the new generation there will be no difference in choices: Redmi will go direct with Qualcomm.
While the Redmi K40 will present the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 (SM7350), the K40 Pro version will present the SM8350 SoC, or what will be called commercially Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 (and therefore much more expensive).
We would like to clarify that what has been said is still the result of an indiscretion and that there is nothing official. For this reason, we invite you to take it all with the pliers and with the benefit of the doubt.
