Although the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro is among the best smartphones ever as regards the quality of the rear photographic sector and the audio recording and playback system, it seems that the same cannot be said for the front camera. According to the new DxOMark review, Xiaomi’s top of the range is positioned on a par with many mid-range models with 83 points.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro is equipped with a 1/3 ″ 20 MP sensor with each pixel 0.9 µm large, fixed focus, and lens with f / 2.0 aperture. The smartphone is able to capture decent selfies but is decidedly sunk in the video sector by optical stabilization (and also by the fact that the recording is limited to 1080p).

During video recording, face exposure is good in bright light conditions and in typical indoor lighting conditions. Once the light levels drop below 10 lux, the exposure also begins to decrease and the shots are underexposed.

As for photos, the dynamic range is limited and recording in high contrast conditions will almost inevitably result in a cancellation of details in the darker and lighter areas.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro is one of the best devices we have ever tested for the quality of the rear camera, but unfortunately the selfie camera cannot keep up. It will do the job for anyone who wants to occasionally post photos or selfie videos on social media and is not too concerned about the lack of dynamic range or ineffective stabilization system.

However, if you are a vlogger or simply want high-quality front camera images and videos, better alternatives are available in the Xiaomi price range“.
